Been reading since 2009. Finally joined the club. Here’s my FIL’s 65 GT: period-correct go-fast goodness. Almost finished chasing gremlins down to sell it.

Unless you’re selling to buy more Land Rover goodness, DON’T DO IT!

It’s my father-in-law’s. Poor thing has only been out three times in the past 12 months. Between his boat(s) and the Harley she doesn’t get driven. Time to go. He’s gonna pick up a first or second gen F-series after he retires and it will get a LS drivetrain.

Jesus! That’s gorgeous. Everything about it is perfect. Thank you for posting it, and WELCOME TO OPPO (officially as a member)!

Sounds like my mother’s ‘66. The only time it’s ever driven is when I go drive it. My wife and I have talked about maube buying it off of her one day just so it can actually see time on the road as it’s meant to be.
Also, welcome to Oppo!

Welcome to Oppo! I’m in a similar position. Long time listener, first time caller.

Got too much else going on right now. Between possibly moving to another job amd possibly getting a housd soon, I have bigger fish to fry at the moment. My wife and I want our own project car as well. We both know what we want to get, just a matter of finding it.

Can I ask what it is?

Of course! It’s a bit, well, odd. Some people probably wouldn’t agree with it either. My wife and I are both on the same page, though, and that’s what makes it great. Here’s an obvious hint: it’s the last ride you take.

I like it! Plus, practical, even if a bit morbid.

Yeah, it is morbid. Wife and I have always been into old hearses though. Hell, we left our wedding in the back of one. That’s a story I will have to post later.
The most desirable is a ‘59 Miller-Meteor Caddy. They are increasingly hard to find and can be expensive, though. We don’t mind getting something from the 60's, but we don’t want anything much newer than that.

Would you keep it looking like a hearse, interior and all? With a pull-out bed in the trunk for camping?
![]() 03/15/2016 at 09:56 |

We would like to keep the setup it has, yes. Actually, a bit more morbid I guess, but we actually thought about getting a small fake casket that we would turn into a cooler or a grill. I saw one a few years ago at a car show that had a pull-out grill and it was pretty awesome.

Haha, awesome! Just be prepared for really nasty comments from average church goers.
But yes, loving the idea.

Eh, wouldn’t be the worst that has happened to me. And thanks!
